Alexa Taylor Source 5

Step 1:
A) Dougherty, Neil S., Alan S. Goldberger, and Linda Jean Carpenter. "CHAPTER 8: EQUITY ISSUES: BEYOND JURISDICTION AND ENFORCEMENT OF TITLE Ix." Sport, Physical Activity & The Law (2Nd Ed.) (2002): 85-96. SPORTDiscus with Full Text. Web. 15 Oct. 2016.

B) What are the specifics of Title IX?

C) Before: I am planning on using this source as the basis for my research. While it probably would have been better to use it first rather than last, I still think it will be useful in tieing up any loose ends about the law itself and ensuring I have a strong understanding of the law.
During: Equitable treatment is based on benefits, not dollars-except in financial assitance. Three-pronged tests.

Step 2:
This article had the specifics of the law spelled out clearly, while also providing real world examples of when a situation would and wouldn't be violating Title IX. It also broke the law into seperate sections and used understandable language to dissect the law.
The article was helpful in further clarifying my understanding of Title IX. I orginally thought that females had to be provided with the same amount of money as their male counterparts, but after reading this article I found out that I was wrong, they are based on benefits. In other words, if the football team has medium level uniforms, the female soccer team must have medium level uniforms as well. This article proved more helpful than I was expecting because I thought I should've read this first, but I think it still helped when I looked back on all the information I accumulated through the previous journals.
Any part of this article can synthesize well with my previous four sources because they all directly correlate. All four of the other sources have to do with Title IX in some way and this article was all about Title IX.
Going forward, I need to utilize the information I learned about in this source to synthesize all of my sources together to make a seamless exploratory paper.
