Jordan Zezulka Source 5

Step 1:

Piché, Pierre Gilles. "Institutional Diversity And Funding Universities In Ontario: Is There A Link?." Journal Of Higher Education Policy & Management 37.1 (2015): 52-68. Business Source Premier. Web. 14 Oct. 2016.

My topic has completely changes now and is almost completely focus on purely minority admittance and experience in college/ universities. This source will help me because it deals with institutional diversity as well as funding which plays a huge role in everything.

Step 2:

The article talks about an increase in calls for diversification and differentiation in Ontario’s higher education system. The federal government does not play a coordinating role and limits its involvement to educational areas that are within federal jurisdiction. The article really focuses on the funding part of the issue and can best be summarized in these sentences taken from the conclusion: "Diversification can only be achieved by providing the required incentives to autonomous universities. This translates into chan- ging the current egalitarian funding model to include more diversity objectives through increased differentiated funding by type of university."

I'm questioning the validity of link between the two issues based on the information provided/not provided.

This can be synthesized best with my first journal. I can discuss the issues of gpa as well as funding that affects minority student's college admittance journey.

Again, I can't think of any leading questions after this article. I think this one is the most helpful in linking all of my journals together though. My thesis and questions are becoming more cohesive and integrated.
