Dream Dennis Source 3

"Why an Off-the-Field Win for Student Athletes Could Mean Higher College Costs." Time. Time, 27 Nov. 2014. Web. 12 Oct. 2016.

What would the payment of student athletes mean to the rest of the student body?

Before reading this source I realized I need to change my question due to lack of research available. I would still want to deal with the payment of athletes but I don’t know what perspective/angle I’ll use. I couldn’t find anything on the library website, so to google I went. It’s not as legit but it’s a Times article with great sources, so why not? While skimming through this article I saw a subtitle labeled as “Who Will Foot A Bigger Bill?” This went along perfect with my topic. Basically student’s tuition money goes to so many random places, and we rarely know what we’re paying for.

This source changed my thinking because it showed how big universities charged us for useless things. This article made a great point stating how much were really paying for sporting events. But I do agree with them stating that most schools wouldn’t be able to raise students cost and pay athletes. I don’t think it would be fair to us, there should be some other source of income that could foot the bill. Yes, athletics are a big staple for college towns, but raising prices cost them all their fans. I agree with most of the stated things in this article. It mostly lines up and is similar to my article 1.  Basically saying yes college athletes should be paid, but no one knows where this money will be coming from.

This source led me to think of questions like will all athletic divisions suffer or just only smaller ones? Why can’t the NCAA foot the bill? Why don’t universities tell us exactly where our tuition is going? Also, if this does occur can students fight this?
